Dear fellow members,
As the summer winds down and the new school year on the horizon, our shul, as well, is marking an important event. Sunday night, September 14th is our shul's 51st Anniversary Dinner, to be held at the White Shul.
This year we are honoring two special couples: Mr. & Mrs. Yissachar Clenman and Mr. & Mrs. Aryeh Pomerantz; couples who have both made their mark in our shul. Also, we will be having a tribute to two of our beloved long time members who passed away this year: Mr. Sol Kalish and Rabbi Israel Post. It is important for all our members to make every effort to attend, both to show our support for our honorees, and more importantly, to show your support to YOUR shul. As we understand, it can be somewhat of a financial burden, though we have tried to make it within reach of everybody. There is an option whereas if you solicit $400 dollars in ads from either businesses or individuals (and there are still many businesses within the area that have not been approached) then you may attend the dinner free of charge (and there are a few couples who have already done that) or you can speak to someone within the dinner committee (The Calderons, Harvey Rosenfeld, or me) about working some sort of payment arrangement. In any event it is important for all our members and even the people who might not necessarily be members, but who daven with us on a regular basis, to attend. We have worked hard to make sure that it will be an enjoyable and meaningful event, with fewer speeches and more video presentations. We hope to see everyone there.
